Beau temps, enfin! Nous parlons avec un bateau allemand mais qui vient de
la frontière avec le Danemark. La dame est danoise et raconte qu’ils étaient
ancrés la nuit de la tempête. C’était terrible, leur annexe a coulé et ils ont
du l’abandonner. Plusieurs choses ont cassé sur leur bateau et la nuit à été
longue. Et chose curieuse, le vent a changé de direction de 180˚ pendant la
tempête. Quelle chance que nous soyons arrivés après et qu’Hera II était en sécurité
à la Marina de Preveza. Nous partons en vélo pour notre expédition du jour :
aller à Episcopi, un petit port au nord-ouest de l’ile de Kalamos, le port où
nous sommes (qui s’appelle aussi Kalamos) est à l’est de l’ile. Bonne balade de
6 km, surtout dans la forêt, c’est agréable. Voyant une route qui descend vers
la mer nous la prenons, mais à pied, nous laissons les vélos sur la route. Nous
marchons, marchons et arrivons au bord de la mer. C’est ici qu’arrive le câble
principal qui apporte l’électricité du continent à l’ile de Kalamos. Sinon, pas
grand-chose, juste une chapelle en ruine. Nous voyons un serpent assez long
mais mince qui disparait rapidement dans les trous d’un mur, je n’ai pas le
temps de faire une photo. Nous arrivons à Episcopi, port plus petit que
Kalamos. Nous parlons avec deux hommes qui ont leur voilier ici, ils sont
Suisses allemands mais parlent bien français, et mystère de la vie, leur bateau
porte le pavillon belge … Ils nous indiquent un (le seul) restaurant à
Episcopi. Bien que nous ayons déjà mangé nos noix et un morceau de chocolat,
nous décidons d’y aller. Et quelques minutes après, nos deux nouveaux amis nous
y rejoignent. Le plus âgé des deux a fait du bateau en Grèce depuis 40 ans et
connait bien la côte. Repas bon et sympathique mais un peu cher. Et le restaurant marque les toilettes d'une manière assez drôle (voir photos). Nous les
quittons et reprenons la route du retour en vélo. Arrêt baignade à la grande
plage au nord du port et retour au bateau. Nous retournons diner à « notre »
cafétéria et nous prenons seulement une salade grecque et deux bières, c’est
assez, nous avons bien déjeuné. Très bonne journée. Nous partons demain.

Good weather, finally! We talk with a German yacht but
which comes from the border with Denmark. The lady is Danish and says they were
anchored on the night of the storm. It was terrible, their tender sank and they
had to abandon it. Several things broke on their boat and it was a long night.
And oddly enough, the wind changed direction 180˚ during the storm. How lucky that
we arrived afterwards and Hera II was safe at the Preveza Marina. We leave by
bike for our expedition of the day: to Episcopi, a small port in the northwest
of the island of Kalamos, the port where we are (which is also called Kalamos)
is in the east of the island . Good 6 km ride, mostly in the forest, it's nice.
Seeing a road that goes down to the sea, we take it, but on foot, we leave the
bikes on the road. We walk, walk and arrive at the seaside. This is where the
main cable arrives which brings electricity from the mainland to the island of
Kalamos. Otherwise, not much, just a ruined chapel. We see a fairly long but
thin snake that quickly disappears into holes in a wall, I don't have time to
take a picture. We arrive at Episcopi, a smaller port than Kalamos. We speak
with two men who have their sailboat here, they are Swiss Germans but speak
French well, and mystery of life, their boat carries the Belgian flag… They recommend
us a (the only) restaurant in Episcopi. Although we have already eaten our nuts
and a piece of chocolate, we decide to go there. And a few minutes later, our
two new friends join us. The older of the two has been sailing in Greece for 40
years and knows the coast well. Good and friendly meal but a bit expensive. And the restaurant has a funny way to mark the lavatories for men and women (see pictures). We
leave them and take the road back. Swimming stop at the large beach north of
the port and return to the boat. We go back to "our" cafeteria for
dinner and take only a Greek salad and two beers, that's enough, we had a good
lunch. Very good day. We leave tomorrow.
